Crafting Tame Toys for Grown-ups w/ Beaver Richards
February 6, 2027 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

About the Workshop: Crafting Tame Toys for Grown-ups
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this spicy offering brings traditional earthskills into the realm of intimate connection & play, in a platonic and respectful workshop setting! Using feathers, leather & fur, participants will be guided in crafting their very own sensory toys:
* Learn simple hand sewing techniques for leather and fur
* Learn how to join things with a cordage wrap and homemade pitch putty
* Create your own unique tickler, flogger & blindfold
Participants will use feathers from a car-killed turkey, home-made pitch putty, and cordage wrapping to craft a feather tickler. Then, we’ll hand sew a simple leather flogger, learning techniques of cutting and sewing leather in the process. Finally, we’ll craft a super soft blindfold out of rabbit hides.
Students are highly encouraged to bring supplemental materials if able: special feathers, a meaningful stick (pinky thick), homemade leather and fur. These help personalize your toy, but all necessary materials will be provided. Some handmade leather will be available for an extra fee.
This class is beginner friendly and no experience is necessary. Pricing is set to encourage folks to bring a sweetie or a friend, but solo students are welcome! Moderate hand strength and patience are needed for hand sewing. We will briefly discuss consent and boundaries, but this workshop will focus on crafting the items, not using them during class. Bring your creative energy and enjoy ancient earthskills in a whole new way!
This class will be held indoors on Saturday, February 6th, 2027, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm in Asheville, NC.
Class Price includes all Materials for the Class
Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
